A tutor is standing and leaning over a desk, engaging with students in a classroom or tutoring setting. The students are seated at the desk, and one of them is taking notes. There is a large plant in the background and window blinds letting in natural light. The logo of 'Tailored Tutoring' is present in the upper left corner.

One-to-one and small group tutoring

Free, focused, personalised support to help young people build confidence, close learning gaps, and rediscover a sense of progress in their education.

Tailored tutoring brings together experienced teachers and learners for mutual benefit.

Backing ambition, not privilege

Our mission here at Tailored Tutoring is to offer bespoke tuition to able pupils in state schools who might otherwise not be able to afford private sessions.

We are passionate about raising standards and helping pupils achieve their desired grades in English Language and English Literature at GCSE. If you have pupils who enjoy English and are ambitious about gaining the highest grades, but require a little assistance, we would like to help.

It is a known fact that pupils attending prestigious private schools also have tutors to help them. As a result, many pupils in state schools are at a disadvantage - and preparing for GCSEs is not an ‘even playing field.’

We want to take small steps to redress this.

Tuition with Tailored Tutoring can take the form of Zoom sessions or small, in-person groups with no more than four students. Sessions can take place within the school day or after school at a mutually agreed time.

Tutors will not deliver sessions in pupils’ homes. Tailored Tutoring is not for pupils excluded from the classroom or for pupils who do not genuinely have a desire to improve or have an ambition to excel. We cater for high achievers and pupils who are prepared to work hard to improve their grades.
